Description: 

NZ native plant, naturally inhabiting damp shady streamsides and gullies. It has dark stems with pinnate leaves that are rough and wrinkled and have serrated margins.

The leaves are dark bronzy green with purple tonings. An interesting foliage plant that makes a very good groundcover for a wet shady position.

Can be damaged by heavy frosts in more open areas.

Ht: up to 1m in deep shade

Uses: 

Groundcover, Shady areas, Banks, for its colour and texture.
