A spectacular large tree native to Papua New Guinea
Large deep green pleated leaves up to 60cm across. Produces a multiple fruit call a syconium.
To grow this Ficus it needs a sheltered area with no frosts and moist soil.
Ht: up to 5m
Uses:
Sub tropical gardens, the fruit and young leaves can be eaten.
Propagation:
By air layering.
