Description:
Evergreen large shrub, native to China.
Small glossy leaves, elliptic-oblong shape, up to 10cm long.
Flowers are solitary and are borne amongst the foliage in the leaf axils during spring and summer.
They are around 3cm in size and the colour is an intereting mix of rosy purple and off white.
The flowers are strongly perfumed resembling banana & port wine.
Grows in full sun or semi shade. Frost tender.
Ht: up to 4m
Uses:
Grown for its fragrance, great planted near to entrance ways, windows or patios.
Responds to trimming and can be used as a hedge or screen.
Looks good amongst tropical themed gardens.

From cuttings.
